$35.00Jeremy’s score 92/100Heady and floral, this deep, dark shiraz of medium to fullish weight reveals spicy, peppery aromas of intense, pastille-like black, red and blue fruits backed by cedary oak. It’s soft, round and plump, with a core of silky fruit underpinned by a fine, drying mineral spine that carries the palate to a long, spicy finish of red licorice, cola and mineral. There’s a lot of very classy shiraz here for its price. And in 2-3 years there will be even more!

$50.00Jeremy’s score 93/100Given a splash of around 2% viognier – which adds to the floral nature of its perfume as well as the flesh and roundness of its palate – this is an elegant, savoury and mineral shiraz of medium weight. It’s spicy, peppery and musky, with a floral lift to its wild aromas of dark cherries and berries. Supported by a fine, powdery spine, it’s soft and generous, extending long and balanced towards a lingering savoury finish.

$226.00Jeremy’s score 95/100A gentle, restrained and supple red made from Sérine, a selection believed to be an old type of Syrah (shiraz) from the northern Rhône. Its briary, faintly herbal bouquet of redcurrants, blueberries and dark cherries is lifted by musky, peppery aromas, while its ethereal, almost fragile palate, marries suggestions of underbrush with gentle, pristine fruit. Wrapped in a rather taut, almost sappy acidity, it is made from just six rows of fruit and matured in a single foudre (large format barrel).

$50.00Jeremy’s score 95/100A joyful young chardonnay whose pristine aromas of grapefruit and yellow peach are lifted by bright floral notes, lemon and ginger, with an underswell of creamy yeast-derived notes and a whiff of chicken stock. It’s long and smooth, with a round, juicy core of grapefruit and lemon finely balanced with tight-grained oak and underpinned by a fine mineral texture, before finishing long, dry and savoury with a mouthwatering lemony acidity. Shapely and pleasingly complex already, it’s more fruitful than previous editions of this wine. Drink any time over the next decade.

$80.00Jeremy’s score 98/100A spectacular chardonnay whose voluminous and alluring perfume reveals deep layers of stonefruit, grapefruit and lemon tightly knit with faintly toasty vanilla oak spot lit with complex nuances of spice, creamy nougat and roast chicken pie. Its unctuous core of pristine stonefruit and citrus flavour steamrolls long and clear down a finely textured backbone, driving with power and style towards a fine, focused finish of refreshing and faintly mineral acids. Artfully balanced with smoky oak, it’s quite a masterpiece. Acknowledging the role of Darrin Gaffy in its making, this Chardonnay gets my nod as the finest white wine yet released by Doug Neal.

$135.00Jeremy’s score 95/100Austere and traditional, waiting to unfold deep layers of fruit and minerality, this faintly toasty and oily riesling has an alluring bouquet of white flowers, apple, pear and like juice backed by suggestions of schist and lavender. ItÕs rich and concentrated with a long and assertive palate of translucent lime juice, apple and pear-like fruit backed by a fine chalkiness and tightly wrapped in a taut acidity, finishing bone-dry and vivacious.

$90.00Jeremy’s score 95/100An elegant, stylish and deeply scented pinot noir from the Tamar Valley and Pipers River in northern Tasmania. Laced with a deep perfume of rose petals, musk and red cherries with a whiff of pomegranate, cola and dried herbs. Its gentle cedary oak also underpins its round, almost unctuous palate of medium weight, as its core of red and maraschino cherry extends with suppleness and and mouthcoating intensity down a gentle spine. It finishes long and lively, with lingering notes of red licorice and a vivacious acidity.

Mount Mary Quintet Cabernet Blend 2010
$285.00Jeremy’s score 90/100A deep, alluring perfume of violets, cassis, raspberries and mulberries is augmented by fresh, fine-grained cedar/vanilla oak and undertones of dried herbs. With time it has begun to reveal suggestions of wet wool and lanolin, losing the brightness of its youth. It’s still supple and fine-grained, with a lively core of red berry flavour, but it’s drying out from the finish and does finish with some slightly edgy and awkward aspects.
