Another attractive, lively and minty Clare Valley red whose briary small berry fruit is well matched by cedar and vanilla oak. It’s fragrant and lightly herby, with a hint of eucalypt, a delightful vitality and fleshiness on the palate and an unobtrusive integration of fruit and oak.
A lean, polished red with a sweet, slightly confection-like aroma of raspberries and blackberries, sweet cedar/vanilla oak and a floral background of mint, eucalypt and menthol. Firm and assertive, its long and persistent palate of brightly lit and lightly stewy small red and black berry flavours culminates in a finish of refreshing acids and slightly raw tannins. Just give it a few years.
A fine, elegant, tightly balanced and stable wine with pleasing fruit depth and structure. Its vibrant, floral and faintly herbal aromas of black and red berries are tightly knit with cedary suggestions of spicy vanilla oak. Its supple, smooth palate of vibrant berry/plum flavour, cedary oak and herbal undertones finishes long and persistent, with undertones of dried herbs.
Minty, slightly floral and cedary aromas of cassis, red berries and sweet, polished, chocolate-like oak are backed by herbal undertones and hints of raisins. ItÕs moderately long and rich, with a forward expression of plums and berries that becomes rather dehydrated down the palate, finishing with nuances of currants and prunes, plus a slightly raw and metallic cut of acid and tannin.
Very restrained, with a delicate minty bouquet of sweet, confiture-like red and black berries and creamy vanilla oak. Initially minty, sweet and jammy, its loses weight and density in mid palate, but has a slightly chalky and fine-grained extract. It finishes with green-edged and meaty notes, lacking its customary presence of genuinely ripe fruit.
Finely crafted from a hot year, with a sweet bouquet of ripe plums, blackberries, restrained cedar/vanilla oak with hints of bay leaf and cola. ItÕs smooth and supple, gentle and elegant, with a sweetly fruited presence of plums and dark berries supported by silky tannins and backed by subtle vanilla oak, finishing just marginally thin, with a suggestion of baked fruit.
An early-drinking, rather vegetal cabernet whose capsicum-like aromas of cassis and sweet vanilla/cedar oak precede a sappy, gentle palate whose greenish flavours of small berries and plums are gently oaked and underpinned by a fine, fragile extract. It finishes slightly edgy and metallic.
