A lean, polished red with a sweet, slightly confection-like aroma of raspberries and blackberries, sweet cedar/vanilla oak and a floral background of mint, eucalypt and menthol. Firm and assertive, its long and persistent palate of brightly lit and lightly stewy small red and black berry flavours culminates in a finish of refreshing acids and slightly raw tannins. Just give it a few years.

Mount Horrocks
Mount Horrocks is a long-established small Clare Valley producer whose range includes a delightfully fresh and faintly smoky barrel-fermented Semillon and the popular regional dessert wine benchmark of Cordon Cut Riesling. While its shapely Riesling is typical of the region, the Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon each delivered finely crafted wines from the 2013 vintage.
