Winery

Taltarni
While TaltarniŐs winemaking team changed over recent years, it remains owned by the American John Goelet, who also owns its ÔsisterŐ winery in the Napa Valley, Clos du Val. In similar vein to Clos du Val, TaltarniŐs style is rarely overripe, but measured, polished and slowly, steadily matured, initially in large format oak casks, to achieve a fine, long-living balance, structure and elegance. The current releases are not only some of the finest for recent years but are unashamedly made with a powerful extract and the expectation of great longevity. I enjoy the savoury, mineral wine evolving under the FumŽ Blanc label, which provides another alternative for those seeking a grown-up sauvignon blanc. The sparkling wines are also showing more finesse and creaminess.
