Grosset Piccadilly Chardonnay 2005
A little firmer than usual, this dry and savoury chardonnay retains its typical intensity and depth of flavour. Backed by sweet butter/vanilla oak, with light mineral-like undertones, its fresh aromas of white peach and melon reveal a suggestion of wheatmeal. Smooth and creamy, its generous and silky palate of ripe peach/melon fruit is underpinned by a finely powdered chassis, culminating in a lingering finish of persistent flavour and fine extract.

Grosset
Grosset is rightly known the world over for the spectacular quality and charm of its two key individual vineyard rieslings, the Polish Hill and the Springvale, both of which are graded with a Five Star rating, the only pair of rieslings from a single maker to achieve this level of recognition. While Grosset's current releases are all of genuine style and quality, I'm paying particular attention to the 2012 Gaia cabernet blend, which is by far the best wine under this label for many a year.
