Grosset Noble Riesling
Clare Valley
Price Range at Release: $30-$49
Vintage: 2011
A remarkably intense, fresh and balanced dessert wine whose piercing aromas of apricot, pear, apple and tropical fruits are backed by hints of cinnamon and lifted by a pristine scent of white flowers. ItÕs long, luscious and explosively concentrated, steeped in flavours of peach, pear, apple and apricot underpinned by fine, chalky phenolics. Punctuated by fresh, tightly focused acids, it finishes with remarkable length, balance and intensity.

Grosset
Grosset is rightly known the world over for the spectacular quality and charm of its two key individual vineyard rieslings, the Polish Hill and the Springvale, both of which are graded with a Five Star rating, the only pair of rieslings from a single maker to achieve this level of recognition. While Grosset's current releases are all of genuine style and quality, I'm paying particular attention to the 2012 Gaia cabernet blend, which is by far the best wine under this label for many a year.
