    Coulter C1 Chardonnay 2019
    Jeremy’s score 90/100

    Rated 0 out of 5
    $30.00

Peachy and creamy, with undertones of cashew, vanilla and buttery oak, it’s long and smooth. Spotlessly clean, with a viscous core of juicy flavour backed by a hint of butterscotch and wrapped in bright acids and finishing with a savoury note of oyster shell-like brine, it’s soft and spotlessly clean.

  • Coulter C1 Chardonnay 2022
    Jeremy’s score 94/100

    Rated 0 out of 5
    $34.00

A stylish, flavoursome modern chardonnay whose emphasis on bright grapefruit, white peach and melon-like fruit is deftly backed with restrained oak and nutty, creamy, nougat-like yeast-derived influences. It’s long and focused but has a ripe core of fleshy flavour, extending with translucent brightness and intensity down a fine, slatey spine towards a crisp, focused and refreshing finish. Watch it build with time.

  • Coulter C1 Chardonnay 2023
    Jeremy’s score 89/100

    Rated 0 out of 5
    $34.00

A pretty fragrance of grapefruit, lemon and restrained oak with suggestions of spice and dried herbs precedes a fine, slightly lean and linear palate with a moderate length of fruit and a powdery undercarriage. Its finish is fresh, crisp and taut.Just lacks its customary intensity and flavour.

  • Coulter C2 Sangiovese 2022
    Jeremy’s score 91/100

    Rated 0 out of 5
    $34.00

Earthy, faintly mineral aromas of dark plums, dark cherries, cedar/dark chocolate oak and gravelly undertones reveal suggestions of meatiness and licorice. It’s medium to fullish in body, with a juicy, fiery core of bright, faintly confectionary dark cherry, plum and berry flavours underpinned by fine, grippy tannins. True to variety, it finishes with some savoury, meaty aspects and a distinctive acidity.

  • Coulter C2 Sangiovese 2023
    Jeremy’s score 92/100

    Rated 0 out of 5
    $32.00

Deep, intense and strictly varietal, this dark fruited, perfumed and heady young sangiovese reveals a spectrum of raspberries, dark cherries, licorice, blood plums, eastern spices and dark flowers. There’s a fiery earthiness beneath its intense, pentative fruit, while there’s excellent fine, drying tannins and vivacious acidity to wrap up its lingering and very complete palate. Coulter has just stepped up a peg as a maker of proper sangiovese. This is the real thing.

    Jeremy’s score 93/100

    Rated 0 out of 5
    $34.00

An elegant, supple pinot of medium to fullish weight whose musky, floral fragrance of red cherries, redcurrants, blood plums and sweet cedar/vanilla oak reveals notes of paprika-like spice and chocolate. It’s long, gentle and evenly paced, with layers of bright fruit and oak knit with a faintly gravelly, mineral spine, finishing with freshness and balance. Pleasingly savoury; a little reminiscent stylewise of Tollot Beaut.

  • Coulter C3 Pinot Noir 2023
    Jeremy’s score 90/100

    $34.00

A bright, perfumed young pinot whose musky aromas of raspberries, cherries and rose petals reveal a hint of citrus oil and spice. It’s long and supple, with a village Beaujolais-like weight, with a juicy core of fruit supported by fine, powdery tannins and a hint of dusty oak, finishing with a vivacious acidity. Likely to build richness and depth of the next couple of years.
