Grosset Polish Hill Riesling 1991
More of an oily, keroseney riesling, which makes it unusual for a Grosset. It’s now looking rather tired and dried out, but there’s some attractive grapefruit and lemon flavour underneath its big toasty and buttery aromas. Rather broad, lacking in finesse and customary length.

Grosset
Grosset is rightly known the world over for the spectacular quality and charm of its two key individual vineyard rieslings, the Polish Hill and the Springvale, both of which are graded with a Five Star rating, the only pair of rieslings from a single maker to achieve this level of recognition. While Grosset's current releases are all of genuine style and quality, I'm paying particular attention to the 2012 Gaia cabernet blend, which is by far the best wine under this label for many a year.
