Grosset Polish Hill Riesling 1992
A distinctively different Polish Hill, rather earthy and cheesy, with the stonefruit, dried apricot, mango and paw paw flavours more familiar in German riesling. Long and savoury, it’s now drying out somewhat, leaving behind preserved fruit characters and a lingering nutty finish.

Grosset
Grosset is rightly known the world over for the spectacular quality and charm of its two key individual vineyard rieslings, the Polish Hill and the Springvale, both of which are graded with a Five Star rating, the only pair of rieslings from a single maker to achieve this level of recognition. While Grosset's current releases are all of genuine style and quality, I'm paying particular attention to the 2012 Gaia cabernet blend, which is by far the best wine under this label for many a year.
