Very restrained, with a delicate minty bouquet of sweet, confiture-like red and black berries and creamy vanilla oak. Initially minty, sweet and jammy, its loses weight and density in mid palate, but has a slightly chalky and fine-grained extract. It finishes with green-edged and meaty notes, lacking its customary presence of genuinely ripe fruit.

Mount Horrocks
Mount Horrocks is a long-established small Clare Valley producer whose range includes a delightfully fresh and faintly smoky barrel-fermented Semillon and the popular regional dessert wine benchmark of Cordon Cut Riesling. While its shapely Riesling is typical of the region, the Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon each delivered finely crafted wines from the 2013 vintage.
