Oliver’s Taranga HJ Reserve Shiraz 2002

A massive but supremely elegant shiraz of remarkable focus and flavour. Deeply layered, its dark, rather closed and brooding aromas of dark berries, plums, dark chocolates and musky spice precedes an exceptionally long, balanced and finely crafted palate. Framed by firm, but supple and pliant tannins, it’s savoury and slightly meaty, with lingering flavours of sour-edged plums. Still muscular and a fraction blocky, it’s set for a genuinely long-term future.

Oliver's Taranga
Oliver's Taranga crafts high-class McLaren Vale reds from shiraz, grenache, tempranillo and cabernet sauvignon that reflect Corrina Wright's ability to deliver exceptional regional flavour from a patchwork of different vineyard sites without sacrificing an ounce of elegance or longevity. She also imparts delightful earthy and reductive complexity into the savoury, waxy Fiano while retaining charming freshness and focus in the Vermentino. The vineyard's consistency is evident throughout the 2013 red releases.
