From a difficult vintage, this sweet and spicy shiraz has an evolved floral bouquet of currants, plums and cedar. It’s rather forward and marginally hollow, with a sweet, leathery chocolate palate that dries out to a firm, tarry finish.

Rockford is a dedicated small Barossa maker and a committed supporter of the region’s small vineyards and their owners. Its wines are made with a refreshing disregard for trends and fashion and are bottled without artefact or manipulation. That is not to suggest that they are made and assembled without great care, experience and dedication, but these are essentially ‘natural’ wines that faithfully reflect their sites and seasons.
