Petaluma White Label Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Watery and dilute, with a toasty, buttery and petrochemical nose and a broad, flabby and dirty palate falling away towards a thin, watery finish. Questionable logistics?

Winery

Petaluma
A benchmark Australian wine company, Petaluma was initially established by Brian Croser and is today a newly acquired but key component of Accolade Wines. It recently moved into its new winery and cellar door at Woodside in the Adelaide Hills, which should provide the winemaking team with significantly more capacity to process fruit in these days of earlier and more condensed vintages. The current Petaluma white wines perform at their anticipated levels of quality, but the reds appear to have been affected by a lack of brightness and vivaciousness that could be attributed to unwanted levels of hang time before processing.
