Paringa Estate The Paringa Pinot Noir 2009
Rather exaggerated in a Sonoma Coast fashion, this strong, firm and mineral pinot delivers rather an un-varietal strength and power. Jammy and currant-like, its jammy, almost porty aromas of concentrated plums and dark berries are underpinned by assertive mocha oak. ItÕs deep and forward, with searingly intense fruit at the front of the palate that dries out down its firm and sinewy spine, finishing with a raw-edged astringency. An assertive dry red that has little to do with its variety.

Paringa Estate
Paringa Estate has made a name for its deeply ripened, coloured, dark-fruited and spicy Pinot Noir, and its fragrant and peppery Shiraz, both of which have traditionally been given generous treatment in new oak. There has been a steady movement in style at Paringa across both reds and whites towards a more integrated fusion of fruit, tannin and oak.
