Grosset Gaia Cabernet Blend 2011
Simple, herbaceous aromas of small red and black berries, cedar/vanilla oak precede a green-edged, sappy palate whose smooth fruits culminate in rather a short, tinny and metallic finish. Sadly, it doesnÕt do justice to its label.

Winery
Grosset
Grosset is rightly known the world over for the spectacular quality and charm of its two key individual vineyard rieslings, the Polish Hill and the Springvale, both of which are graded with a Five Star rating, the only pair of rieslings from a single maker to achieve this level of recognition. While Grosset's current releases are all of genuine style and quality, I'm paying particular attention to the 2012 Gaia cabernet blend, which is by far the best wine under this label for many a year.
