A terrific, translucently clear and highly expressive varietal malbec with some of the faintly leafy, herbal and dusty notes the variety can bring as well as its fiery core of intense, almost bloody flavour. Backed by some fine cedary oak, this medium to fullish red delivers bright aromas and flavours of red, blue and black fruits framed by a firmish but genuinely approachable backbone. It’s long, fresh and complete, and fights well above its pricing weight.
Dark, spicy, floral and perfumed, this richly fruited young nebbiolo delivers a varietally correct expression of red cherry confiture, raspberries, bitumen and blackberries plus a hint of citrus oil underpinned by a firmish, drying spine and wrapped in a balanced acidity. It’s very ripe and juicy, with a lingering finish of licorice and blackberry.
A very pretty, faintly herbal and spicy young white that offers a distinctively perfumed bouquet of nectarine and ginger and a long, vivacious palate of apple, pear and stonefruit. It’s long and complete, with a fine mineral spine beneath and a lively, refreshing finish. It should develop very well.
Minty and herbal, but with some promising fruit, but sadly this is a seriously smoke-tainted red wine.
