Hungerford Hill
A long-established brand that has struggled for identity, Hungerford Hill is returning to its Hunter Valley focus under Sam Aranout who purchased the company in December 2016. This makes a load of sense, since other than some fluky botrytis-affected rieslings from Coonawarra of all places, its most feted wines have come from its original home. Old semillons, made by Phillip John, are quite exceptional. It's host to the amazing Muse restaurant, which to this visitor, is the Valley's finest, and by some.
