Tyrrell's
Tyrrell's is a custodian of the traditional Hunter Valley wine styles of early-harvested, unwooded semillon and spicy, savoury shiraz of medium to full weight. Recent years have shown very real improvements in the depth of flavour and structure of its red wines, which have scaled new heights with the (hopefully not) unrepeatable 2014 vintage, certainly the region's finest since 1965. Led by the Vats 1 and 47, the white wines continue to deliver excellence, regionality and longevity. The Vat whites are released with genuine age, but in reality still demand more time in the cellar before opening. The Tyrrell folio is steadily increasing with the addition of more individual vineyard wines that explore some of the region's finest terroirs.
