Paxton Jones Block Shiraz
McLaren Vale
Price Range at Release: $30-$49
Vintage: 2012
Alc %: 13.5
Deeply flavoured and finely balanced, this plush and handsomely oaked shiraz has a densely packed and evenly ripened bouquet whose wild, briary aromas of blackberries, blueberries, dark plums and fresh mocha/chocolate oak reveal nuances of mint, dried herbs and smoked oyster. Its brambly palate of sour-edged black and blue berry flavour knits tightly with sweet chocolate/mocha oak and fine, but firmish tannins, finishing with pleasing length and elegance.

Paxton
A McLaren Vale label developed by one of AustraliaŐs leading viticulturists, David Paxton. Its reds are typically made in a deeply ripened and handsomely oaked style, but over the years are steadily gaining the kind of balance and finesse seen in the 2012 Jones Block Shiraz. Made with minimal chemical intervention, the MW Shiraz is delightfully generous, smooth and approachable.
