Mountadam
Mountadam is the signature property of the High Eden Valley, one of the finest and most historic sites in South Australian wine. Its site is large and quite remarkable, and has recently been extended with the addition of the renowned High Eden Vineyard in a purchase from Treasury Wine Estates. In its two ha of Marble Hill Chardonnay, made from a single clone that might well have been introduced to Australia from Burgundy as a cutting in the 1860s, Mountadam has a unique viticultural resource - the only planting of this clone in Australia. Only 100 cases are made of this wine. Mountadam has become a consistent producer of distinctively regional white wines, its present challenge is to replicate that level with its reds. Mountadam releases whose highlights are the Riesling, Pinot Gris and the finest Patriarch Shiraz for many a year.
