Simply a brilliant, long, fine and textural Right Bank blend whose developing, faintly cigarboxy bouquet of dark cherries and plums, redcurrants dark chocolates and orange rind precedes a long, measured and beautifully balanced palate whose dark fruit extends with perfect ripeness and excellent oak integration down and finely structured and faintly gravelly spine towards a lingering and finely balanced finish.

Chateau Mauvesin Barton
Acquired by the Barton family of Saint-Julien in 2011, after which it has been the recipient of significant re-investment and refurbishment, what was previously known as Chateau Mauvesin is found in Moulis. Its 220-ha property boasts 55 ha of vines, comprising 54% merlot, 35% cabernet sauvignon and 11% cabernet franc. The vines are planted on clay, gravel and sand. This chateau is steadily improving in quality and profile.
