Vibrant aromas of dark berries and plums, cedar and violets with hint of underbrush and mushroom precede a forward, brightly lit palate whose intense expression of black and blue fruits knit tightly with cedary oak and fine, grainy tannins. There's pleasing length and flavour, but it's yet to reveal great complexity.

Chateau Margaux
One of the stellar chateaux of the left bank of Bordeaux, Chateau Margaux was one of the five recognised First Growths of the 1855 Classification. Unquestionably the star performer within the commune of Margaux, its wines typically reflect an elegance and refinement, plus a balance and completeness that enables them to cellar superbly for many decades. The chateau draws from 80ha of red varieties (75% cabernet sauvignon, 20% merlot, 2% cabernet franc and 2% petit verdot) and also has 12 ha planted to sauvignon blanc for its Pavillon Blanc, one of the finest white crafted in Bordeaux.
