Chateau Cheval Blanc
Originally part of Chateau Figeac, Chateau Cheval Blanc was created in 1832. It is one of the most highly rated chateaux in Bordeaux, with a reputation to rival that of the five First Growths of the Medoc. Its 37 ha of vineyard is planted on an unusual soil type for the commune of gravel and clay, to 57% cabernet franc, 40% merlot, plus a small parcels of malbec (its small area of cabernet sauvignon was recently removed).
