Briar Ridge
Briar Ridge is one of my favourite small Hunter makers. Its wines are very true to the regionŐs long- held traditions of elegance and complexity, although in honesty there's some smart, contemporary winemaking behind these wines as well. I have been a long-time fan of the Stockhausen wines and the recently introduced individual vineyard wines from the Dairy Hill site. Of these, I am very impressed with the succulent, finely crafted and delightfully balanced Semillon which, like many others from the region, delivered its best form in 2014.
