Bright aromas of grapefruit, lemon, cinnamon and clove are backed by creamy nougat-like notes and faintly toasty vanilla oak. Initially juicy and creamy, it's mouthfilling and underpinned by a fine chalkiness but then falls a little short, with a finish of pineapple-like flavour and a sweet-sour aspect.

Winery

Bannockburn
There has been a change in winemaking guard at Bannockburn, with a commitment for the company to return to a more mainstream concept in its wines. Bannockburn has proven over the decades that it has an exceptional vineyard, but its last decade has been riddled with wines of a more experimental nature. I very much hope to see this very important Victorian winery return to its former high-end status as soon as possible. The newly released De La Terre Pinot Noir from 2015 is still too stalky and lacking in structure. There are clearly still legacy issues to work through.
