Supported by fine, powdery tannins, this elegant and very inexpensive cool-climate cabernet blend marries bright red, black and blue berry fruit flavours with gentle, unobtrusive oak. ItÕs generous and open, but finely ordered and structured around its typical cabernet backbone, finishing with genuine length and drive. The wineÕs undoubted cellaring potential over five years is something of a bonus.

Alkoomi
Alkoomi was one of the founding vineyards of the Great Southern region. Located in the northern Frankland River sub region, its recent vintages are returning to the style and structure upon which they developed their reputation. Leading the current releases are the Melaleuca Riesling from 2016 (95/100, drink 2028-2036), a wine of classical perfume, purity and longevity, plus the elegant and restrained Blackbutt blend of red Bordeaux varieties from 2010.
