World class releases from Mount Pleasant show why the Hunter is so unique

Mount Pleasant, the historic Hunter brand founded by Maurice O’Shea, one of this country’s true winemaking legends, was spun out of the McWilliams brand a few years ago and is now forging its own path under winemaker Adrian Sparks, who has held the reins since 2018. I have been tasting several of the brand’s current and recent releases, which share a common ground of elegance, depth of flavour, balance and a consistent, expressive house style. I’ll be publishing tasting notes over coming days and will be introducing several into our store. Perfectly reflecting the qualities of its unique, old vine sites, the Mount Pleasant collection offers an outstanding Australian alternative to the highly priced and rated wines of Burgundy and the Northern Rhone.
