Hot off the press today is news that riesling cleaned up at the Clare Valley regional wine show. Which is a little like oil sweeping the pool at Saudi Arabia’s primary industry show or the greenback stealing every gong at Wall Street’s currency show. It’s not exactly a surprise. Mind you, it’s a constant delight to taste and report upon the exceptional rieslings regularly grown and made at this iconic Australian region, and long may this last. I really don’t want to see the day when it comes second-best as the region’s top white!
