Smooth, black and briary, its sumptuous palate reveals a fine depth of plush, velvet-like texture and concentrated licorice and cassis-like fruit. There’s a faint suggestion of overripeness, but the wine has plenty of richness and substance.

St Hallett
Recently acquired by Accolade Wines, St Hallett is a Barossa shiraz specialist. Its Faith is typically vibrant, spicy and silky-smooth, while the Blackwell has more richness, structure and expression. A Barossa benchmark responsible for two excellent releases from 2010 and 2012, the Old Block tops them both for depth, structure and longevity. Recent vintages have also seen a significant improvement in the Eden Valley Riesling, which produced rather a different, more early-maturing style from 2014.
