Centare
A mature vineyard whose plantings of chardonnay, shiraz and cabernet sauvignon at the base of the Warramate Hills near Healesville are being augmented by a new vineyard of close-planted vines from the red Bordeaux varieties. The first release wines from 2019 are very impressive indeed in their expression of region and variety. The Chardonnay, in particular, is anything but the lean and green-edged style seen so commonly from the Yarra and is much the better for displaying its true depth and flavour of varietal fruit.
