Box Grove Vineyard is owned and operated by Sarah Gough, who in a previous incarnation was the chief wine critic at Melbourne's 'The Age' newspaper. Together with Lilian Carter, Gough is focusing on some intriguing savoury wines from Italian and Rh™ne Valley varieties, of which the deeply perfumed Roussanne and Shiraz Roussanne (a rare blend) are my favourites. It's still a youthful project, and I expect the wines to gain more depth and structure over the next decade.
