Barwite was first planted in the late 1990s largely to produce sparkling material for Pernod Ricard Pacific (formerly Orlando). However within the 42 ha currently under vine is 4.5 ha of outstanding riesling, the pick of which is devoted to the Barwite label. Sold at a price that does not come close to reflecting its consistently excellent quality, BarwiteŐs tightly sculpted and mineral Riesling is a steal for the genuine riesling enthusiast.
