With the addition of chardonnay, Simon Grant and Helen Murray set up Traviarti with a view towards making structural and textural red wines from nebbiolo, cabernet sauvignon and tempranillo. It's early days, but the signs are particularly encouraging, as shown by the first-class 2017 Nebbiolo Đ a wine that unfolds a floral bouquet and a gravelly spine. Watch this space.
