Supple and perfectly shaped, this traditional shiraz is deftly balanced and beautifully presented. Its heady bouquet of cassis, blackberries, redcurrants and cedary, faintly chocolatey oak reveals undertones of baked earth, and with aeration becomes steadily more opulent, musky, floral and peppery. Finely crafted, it’s supremely long and perfectly shaped, with layers of deep, dark and vibrant fruit that steadily emerge, tightly wrapped around a mouthwatering spine of dusty, pliant tannins and finished with a refreshing acidity. It’s elegant and savoury, with a structure and flavour profile more suggestive of Eden Valley than the Barossa floor.

Rockford
Rockford is a dedicated small Barossa maker and a committed supporter of the region’s small vineyards and their owners. Its wines are made with a refreshing disregard for trends and fashion and are bottled without artefact or manipulation. That is not to suggest that they are made and assembled without great care, experience and dedication, but these are essentially ‘natural’ wines that faithfully reflect their sites and seasons.
