Mountainside (Formerly Mount Cole Wineworks)
Mountainside is the new name of what I believe to be an exciting Grampians region vineyard in the west of Victoria that was established as Mount Cole Wineworks by Dr Graeme Bertuch, who also founded the once sought-after label of Cathcart Ridge. Today this site and brand are owned by Jane and Shane Goninon, who have retained the services of Adam Louder as winemaker. The style is elegant, savoury and Rh™ney for the signature shirazes, which just need to keep closer to 13.5% alcohol to really enable the site to best express itself. Watch this space.
