Meaty, earthy aromas of stewed plums, menthol and dark chocolate oak precede a smooth, tightly worked palate whose very ripe flavours of plums and blackcurrants, slightly shrivelled currants and raisins are given sweetness through assertive vanilla oak.

Mount Horrocks
Mount Horrocks is a long-established small Clare Valley producer whose range includes a delightfully fresh and faintly smoky barrel-fermented Semillon and the popular regional dessert wine benchmark of Cordon Cut Riesling. While its shapely Riesling is typical of the region, the Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon each delivered finely crafted wines from the 2013 vintage.
