Lane Vineyard, The
The Lane is an ambitious Adelaide Hills-based operation with three levels of wine, of which this book features the middle, or 'Occasion' wines. The vineyard, which justifies its reputation with some impressive wines of genuine complexity and distinction, is capable of fine, slatey and mineral sauvignon blanc and semillon, sold under the Gathering Label as well as some deliciously savoury The Reunion Shiraz. Each of the three current releases in this edition do however reflect some assertive, perhaps over-generous use of oak.
