One of AustraliaŐs largest family-owned wine producers, Angove is steadily evolving to meet modern demands for a presence at the top end of the market, which it is doing without affecting the value and quality represented by its plethora of inexpensive labels. The Medhyk Shiraz and the three Warboys Vineyard reds from McLaren Vale reflect the company's increasing emphasis on McLaren Vale with some first-rate red wines of an elegant, savoury kind of charm. The Family Crest reds slot neatly between the over-delivering Vineyard Select wines and the individual vineyard Warboys trio.
