Sweet earthy farm floor bouquet of liqueur chocolates, polished leathery, wild plums and briary small berry fruits, with undertones of bitumen, cedar and herbal nuances. Full-flavoured and forward, it’s a ripe, briary and tarry wine whose upfront palate of blackberries and plums, chocolates and tar finishes slightly herbal and lacking its customary length.
An ageing, meaty and restrained expression of this famous wine that will provide some charming short-term drinking. ItÕs spicy, floral and peppery, with a dark-fruited expression of berries and plums backed by cedar, fine, dusty tannins and meaty undertones. ItÕs smooth and gentle, with a baked earth character and a greenish undercurrent before finishing savoury, with suggestions of chocolate. Slightly under and overripe.
Very refined, elegant and savoury, with a dark, sour-edged presence of blackberries, blueberries, dark plums and briar backed by nuances of dark chocolate, cloves, and cinnamon. ThereÕs a lively floral aspect to its perfume, an appealing meaty edge about its fruit. Underpinned by a fine extract of chalky, crunchy tannins, itÕs long and finely balanced, finishing with a dark note of mineral and a suggestion of mint.
Finely crafted, elegant and chalky, this evolving shiraz has a meaty, spicy bouquet of briary small dark berries, dark chocolate and licorice with suggestions of underbrush, five spice, nutmeg and cedar. ItÕs tightly beaded, with a restrained but vibrant presence of dark plums, blackberries and redcurrants underpinned by fine, crunchy tannins. It finishes savoury, with a lingering presence of dark fruits but without exceptional length.
