Pale straw in colour, with a light spritz. Scented nose of lemon, lime and fresh floral perfumes, with a generous, long palate of elegance and steely austerity. Longer term wine.
A sweeter wine suggestive of a later and quite difficult harvest, showing signs of oxidation. Scents of apples, leaves and dried flowers precede a palate tending towards the broad and coarse, with excessive phenolics and sugars.
A distinctive riesling with intense, complex flavours and a youthful green-straw colour. The nose is zesty, musky and floral, with hints of blossom. A fraction short, the palate reveals piercing lime/lemon fruit and finishes with a light phenolic grip.
Restrained, brooding riesling with length and austerity, in a fragrant, youthful blush of spicy, musky lime juice and lemon. Long and steely, it sports a fine balance between fruit and lemony acids.
A classical lean and low alcohol expression of longer term riesling whose piercing musky fragrance of lime juice and lemon rind has a pungent edge also experienced on its taut, fine and steely palate. Its chalky alum texture of penetrative fruit is punctuated by bracing acids, finishing long and savoury, leaving an impression of wet slate.
It’s a little hollow and perhaps fractionally sweet to finish, but there’s some appealing and accentuated lemon rind, guava and lime-juice quality about this forward and minerally riesling. Its spicy, almost musky confection-like flavours suggest some heat stress, but while it lacks great longevity, it’s still a pleasing wine.
Closed, slightly reductive aromas of dried flowers and lemon rind reveal a marginally cooked and confectionary aspect. Fine, dry and austere, the powdery palate presents some lively lemon and lime-juice flavours and clean, refreshing acidity, but lacks the real depth of fruit expressed in top seasons.
A light fragrance of apple and musk overlies earthy undertones of wet slate. Soft and creamy, its fine and supple palate presents a tangy, crystalline expression of citrusy fruit that finishes long, dry and mineral. Very tight and restrained, likely to blossom in a couple of years.
A tightly sculpted, long and brittle riesling whose floral, rocky and mineral aromas of fresh lime juice and green apples precede a crunchy, slightly reductive and chewy palate of length and austerity. Finely crafted, with pristine flavours of lime juice over a chalky spine, it finishes with length, drive and lingering mineral qualities.
Scented with lime and lavender, this shapely, mineral and tightly focused riesling complements its fresh but slightly oily flavours of pristine citrusy fruit with a fine-grained, chalky undercarriage. It’s long, tangy and finely sculpted, with vibrant, crystal-clear fruit.
Evolved and complex, with slatey, smoky and mineral complexity beneath its aromas of white flowers, wet stones and lavender, and its fresh varietal presence of lemon, pear and lime juice fruit. Elegant and chalky, with pleasing length and shape, it finishes quite savoury, with an austere and racy cut of clear mineral acids.
