A stunning wine from a remarkable vineyard at Gisborne in Victoria’s Macedon area, whose luxuriant length and intensity of pure stonefruit chardonnay expression is enhanced with lemony oak before culminating in a persistent savoury finish with mineral acids. Very fragrant and complex, with lemongrass and lime, herbal complexity and delicious mouthfeel.
This long and reserved chardonnay has a flinty, almost steely edge and finish, neatly tying together a restrained, but creamy and leesy palate whose peachy, honeysuckle flavours and butterscotch malolactic influences are evolving with spicy, herby aromas and emerging savoury suggestions of grilled nuts. Very poised and complete.
Harmonious, fine and supple chardonnay with delicacy and focus. Its complex aromas of grapefruit, melon and nectarine reveal spicy cinnamon/clove undertones and creamy, fine-grained vanilla oak. Pristine and brightly flavoured, its refreshing and mineral palate presents clear and lingering stonefruit and citrus flavours tightly interwoven with stony, lemony acids.
A jasmine-scented perfume of vibrant citrus fruit and sweet nutty vanilla oak precedes a long, sumptuous palate with a juicy, baby-fat texture of pristine chardonnay fruit culminating in a taut, mineral finish.
Long and austere, this floral and dusty chardonnay opens with a light aroma of quince, melon and cumquat fruit backed by toasty, waxy, buttery and nutmeal-like nuances, with a hint of herbaceousness. Initially round and juicy, its extends in a leaner and tighter fashion towards its crisp, mineral finish of lemon, lime and pineapple.
Long, supple and Macon-like, with a waxy, floral bouquet of stonefruit, clove-like oak and white flowers backed by nuances of cashew and nutmeg. Measured, elegant and chalky, its tangy palate of citrusy flavour steadily builds towards a crescendo of fruit, minerality and reductive complexity.
A lean, austere chardonnay whose lightly herbal aromas of grapefruit, melon, cinnamon and fresh vanilla/clove oak reveal nuances of grilled nuts and bubblegum. Its taut, citrusy palate delivers length but rather a shy presence of sour-edged citrus/melon fruit with some forward oak wrapped in a marginally green-edged malic acidity. Deliberately fashioned in a very contemporary style, and very tight.
