An exotically musky perfume of black pepper, briary red and black berries precedes a smooth and sumptuous palate steeped in flavour. Its lightly minty expression of cassis, dark cherries and licorice is harmoniously interwoven with creamy oak before finishing long and savoury with minerality and a delightful sour-edged aspect. Exemplary elegance and balance.
A very slightly cooked, meaty but smooth, supple and deeply flavoured shiraz whose deep, leathery aromas of cassis, plums and dark chocolate are backed by nuances of cloves, cinnamon and vanilla. Its long, elegant and savoury palate of small berries, plums and currants finishes with lingering earthy and charcuterie-like undertones.
Right on the style cue for this wine comes this luscious, seamless and finely integrated shiraz whose brooding, mocha-like aromas of dark plums, berries and black pepper reveal undertones of dried earth and charcuterie meats. Initially closed and introverted, it steadily opens layers and length of luscious black, briary fruit, spicy vanilla oak, all of which is framed handsomely by a drying cut of firm astringency.
More elegant and restrained than recent vintages, with a perfumed, meaty and faintly reductive bouquet of blackberries, cassis, dark plums and blueberries knit lifted by fresh oak and bright floral qualities. Smooth and gentle, with an underlying tight-knit firmness, it reveals a faintly sour-edged expression of vivacious fruit and balanced smoky vanilla oak, finishing with length and charm.
