Meaty overripened and cooked this fast-maturing and short-lived shiraz reveals an oaky smoky pruney aroma Its palate begins with juicy flavours of plums and cassis but quickly becomes more currant and prune-like lacking length of sweet fruit and presenting a green-edged sappy and slightly metallic finish
Yes its exaggerated and slightly overripe but its also a terrific if probably rather short-term drink Alluringly bright aromas of violets cassis and dark plums with a sweet vanilla background of cedarchocolate oak reveal nuances of smoke bacon and mocha Its soft smooth and unctuous dripping with deeply and lavishly concentrated shiraz flavour finishing with just a hint of prunes and currants Tightly knit with smoky creamy mocha-like oak and velvet tannins its almost too drinkable right now to justify any cellaring at all
Spirity sweet-fruited and very ripe with luscious pastille-like fruit and a firm drying structure of fine tannins its very smooth and approachable despite its power and assertive nature Vibrant aromas of cassis and violets dark chocolates and vanilla briar and blueberries dark plums cloves and cinnamon precede a smooth velvet palate of genuine length richness and smoothness It finishes with refreshing acidity and a core of evenly ripened fruit
Modern smooth and stylish deeply and evenly ripened with pleasing weight elegance and suppleness Rich and earthy but closed and withdrawn its dense aromas of cassis and dark plums are knit with smoky chocolatey oak Its long silky and luscious with dense briary and pastille-like flavours of small berries and plums artfully entwined with fine-grained oak pliant tannins and fresh acids
An intense luscious and uncomplicated shiraz of purity and brightness Its heady fragrance of violets cassis raspberries and fine-grained faintly gamey and cedary oak reveals a hint of mineral and a whiff of spirit Smooth warm and richly fruited its marginally sweet and porty but delivers plenty of juicy jujube-like fruit and fresh oak framed by fine pliant tannins It should develop more character and complexity with time
An unctuous smooth and very approachable shiraz with porty meaty and lightly spicy aromas of raisins currants blueberries blackberries and dark plums knit with sweet chocolatey oak Its plush and velvety with deeply concentrated pastille-like flavours of cassis blackberries and dark plums backed by assertive oak and faintly medicinal minty notes Very exaggerated warm and spirity
Despite its 15 alcohol responsible for its spirity warmth this is a fine deeply ripened shiraz of surprising elegance and balance Its dense tightly packed aromas of cassis blackberries briar and assertive chocolatemocha oak are backed by notes of mint cloves and cinnamon plus a hint of treacle Smooth luscious and sweetly fruited its deep dark core of small berry flavour and meaty complexity is supported by fine tannins finishing with excellent length and savoury qualities but also a slight hotness
Deeply ripened smooth and unctuous this modern shiraz still delivers elegance and shape despite its 155 alcoholic strength Dense aromas of dark plum cassis and a hint of blueberry are handsomely backed by creamy chocolatevanilla oak A luscious jammy core of blackberries redcurrants cassis and blood plum extends with fresh oak along a fine drying spine towards a vibrant refreshing but fractionally warm finish of lively acidity
