A firm, minty Victorian cabernet that should develop elegance and complexity with age. Its lightly dusty and herbal aromas of cassis, violet, sweet vanilla and chocolate oak precede a smooth and oaky palate of full to medium weight whose vibrant berry flavours are tightly wound around drying and astringent tannins.
Ripe and rather jammy aromas of blackberries and cassis are underpinned by a sweet and very smoky expression of mocha/vanilla oak, with a hint of ashtray. Deep, dark and concentrated, its firm, drying and fine-grained palate delivers plenty of intense, minty berry/plum fruit with undertones of eucalypt and menthol. It finishes very smoky indeed, leaving a faint question mark over the issue of bush fire taint.
An elegant, firm and fine-grained cabernet with a dark Penfolds-styled oaky bouquet of smoky, chocolatey nuances over a slightly meaty, minty and herbal bouquet of dark plums and small berries. Its long, dusty palate is laced with blackberries, cassis, cedar and cocoa, before finishing with a lingering minty core of fruit and a slightly herbal and tobaccoey edge.
