$20.00Jeremy’s score 91/100There’s exceptional value for money in this very smooth and seductive older-styled shiraz. Sure, its tarry, treacle and licorice-like fruit borders on the raisined and porty, but it presents an excellent length of rich, powerful fruit, some suggestions of smoky new oak and rather classy, firm and tight-knit drying tannin.

Jeremy’s score 87/100Ageing, rather dehydrated shiraz whose meaty, tarry aromas of berries, currants and prunes reveal assertive oak and earthy, leathery undertones. Moderately full in weight, it’s firm and tannic, with a meaty, up-front palate of concentrated but tiring fruit, drying out towards the finish.

Jeremy’s score 91/100A typically ripe and juicy northeast Victorian red of power and structure. Brooding and rather restrained, its lightly minty and earthy aromas of dark plums, cassis and liqueur chocolates reveal spicy suggestions of cloves, white pepper and cinnamon over very measured nuances of vanilla oak. Richly flavoured with juicy black fruits, dark olives and a hint of tarriness, it’s firm and astringent, just staying the right side of over-ripeness.

Its smoky fragrance of sweet blackberries, cassis and violets is backed by spicy nuances of cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg, with a whiff of rosemary. Sumptuous and deeply concentrated, its thick, full-bodied palate backs its evenly ripened fruit with a firm spine of chalky tannin and meaty, mineral undertones. Rustic but well crafted, with a touch of attitude.
