Small brambly red and black berries combine with cedary, chocolate French oak with obvious barrel ferment mocha influences. Elegant, long and restrained, the palate matches intense forest fruits with fine-grained tannins.
Perhaps the best Bordeaux blend yet from this Canberra shiraz specialist, this is an honest, under-stated wine of delicacy and restraint. Its dusty, lightly herby fruit flavours of cassis, mulberries and plums are carefully married with cedary oak and tight, fine-grained tannins.
Supple, poised cabernet blend whose floral varietal aromas and flavours of sweet small berries knit tightly with tobaccoey merlot, restrained cedary oak, fine tannins and a background of rosemary and bay leaf. Delightfully balanced.
Lean, high acid style with a dusty herbal note to its delicate aromas of dark berries, plums and vanilla oak. Fine and supple, smooth and creamy, its rather polished palate of small berry fruits culminates in a firm, assertive finish of slightly green-edged tannins. Should develop well over medium term.
A very rustic, firm and marginally dirty wine with an earthy, farmyard-like aroma of cassis and mulberries, cedar and vanilla. Its meaty, menthol-like palate of dark plums and dark olives overlies a firm backbone, finishing long and savoury. Lacks brightness and freshness.
A dusty fragrance of small, spicy red and black berries and sweet cedar/vanilla oak with slightly meaty and herbal undertones precedes an elegant, supple and fine-grained palate whose pleasing length of vibrant berry/plum flavour is tightly integrated with a bony spine of drying tannins. There’s a faint undercurrent of dried herb-like influence, but the wine should flesh out well.
Likely to smooth out into a fine and cultivated wine, this fragrant, firmish young cabernet blend has a spicy, lightly herbal and confiture-like aroma of blackberries, cassis and dark cherries backed by cedar/vanilla oak. Fine-grained and gravelly tannins frame its deeply ripened palate of sweet red and black berries and measured cedary oak.
Gentle and deeply perfumed, this Old World-like cabernet has a sweet, dusty fragrance of small black and red berries, fresh cedar/vanilla oak backed by floral and herbal nuances. Elegant and willowy, its pristine, long and savoury palate of brightly lit berry fruit, dusty and cedary oak and fine-grained tannins finishes with a lively punctuation of fresh acidity.
