A delicious, elegant, moderately firm and grainy sangiovese whose heady, floral bouquet of black berries, dark cherries, small red fruits and cedar/chocolate oak reveals a hint of menthol. Underpinned by fine, firmish tannins, itÕs long, textured and moderately full in weight. Faintly sour-edged small black and red berry/cherry fruit knit tightly with chocolate/mocha oak, finishing tightly wrapped in a typically steely acidity. Aeration enhances its depth of fruit and steadily dissipates the slight funkiness evident on opening.
Very ripe, with a pure core of dark cherry, cassis and dark plum-like fruit backed by chocolatey, earthy and spicy udnerontes. Long and penetrative, its juicy, push core of flavour is underpinned by a fine, firmish undercarriage of drying tannins before finishing very long, savoury and artfully wrapped in vivacious acidity. Just give it time; everything is there.
