Delicate dusty aromas of violets cassis raspberries and dark plums are offset by slightly varnishy smoky and cedary oak Simultaneously ripe and under-ripe its palate is slightly cooked and stewy revealing sweet berryplum fruit and assertive oak framed by green-edged and slightly metallic tannins There’s also a very faint and strange smoky character at the finish of the wine that is reminiscent of both smoke taint and brettanomyces
Hollow thin and green with a polished cut of sweet vanilla and cedary oak that fails to compensate for the greenish sappy and under-ripe small red berry flavours that are framed by a sappy extract of metallic tannin
Lean dull and minty with a long firmish expression of light red berries plums and blackcurrants with dusty cedary and herbaceous undertones Backed by nuances of menthol and iodide its moderately long but lacks true brightness and focus
An attractive early drinking cabernet with delicate floral and herbaceous aromas of sweet cassis cedar chocolate and dried herbs Its smooth plush and juicy palate of slightly green-edged and sappy fruit is underpinned by fine-grained elegant tannins finishing with a pleasing length of fruit sweetness Reflects some under and overripe fruit
Rather greenish this medium-weight cabernet lacks a true core of ripeness Meaty and greenish with earthy cedary aromas and a lean rather sappy and metallic palate it is lifted to an extent by some sweet cedarvanilla oak
One of the best reds from this maker in recent years Earthy scents of violets and mulberries cassis and dark plums with nuances of underbrush and dried herbs precede a polished and beautifully fruited palate whose vibrant small berry flavours and fresh cedary oak are supported by a dusty cut of fine-grained tannins It persists long and bright with intense evenly ripened black and red berry fruit and finely balanced acids
A finely honed long and balanced cabernet beginning to develop some cigarboxy notes While it lacks the intensity for a higher rating it reveals a perfumed violet-like bouquet of fresh cassis knit with dusty cedar vanilla and chocolatey oak Long and elegant its supple and gentle with a brightly lit presence of translucent black and red berry flavours framed by fine loose-knit tannins
Robust and deeply ripened with a densely packed and marginally over-ripened bouquet of small red and black berries cedarvanilla oak and dried herbs with currant-like undertones Sumptuous and assertive with layers of ripe fruit knit with fine powdery tannin its long firm and deeply flavoured finishing with strength and a focused acidity
Very fine and stylish with a sweet oaky perfume of violets cassis mulberries dark plums and red flowers backed by dusty herbal notes Its long pristine and deeply flavoured with a lingering presence of small black and red berries tightly knit with cedarvanilla oak and framed by fine chalky tannins It will age well
