Meaty, spicy aromas of cracked pepper and cloves, red plums and cherries, with sweet cedar/vanilla oak over a hint of greenness. Lean, bony palate with a mouthful of ripe tomatoey cherry fruit bound by firm tannins. Quite refined, but on the other hand, also rather rustic and green-edged.
Slightly confectionary aromas of small red berries, cherries and plums are backed by assertive vanilla oak and herbal, earthy undertones. Medium to full in weight, it’s smooth and sappy, with intense berry flavours becoming more herbal towards the slightly spirity finish.
Evolved, meaty and smoky, this slightly hard and angular shiraz has a Bovril-like meatiness about its musky aroma of dark plums, cherries and undergrowth. Full to medium weight, its sumptuously ripened flavours of blackberries, dark plums and redcurrants are framed by smooth, pliant tannins that finish with just a herbal hint of menthol and metallic greenness. It should settle down and integrate with a little age.
A pretty, willowy and supple young shiraz whose heady, brambly and floral aromas of spicy fruit and aromatic oak precede an elegant and pristine palate whose juicy expression of raspberries, cherries and cassis are underpinned by fine, dusty tannins and smooth, chocolatey oak. It finishes slightly herbal and sappy.
Faultless, exaggerated and almost caricature-like, with a highly spiced and peppery presence of cherries, dark plums, redcurrants and small berries sweetly supported by cedar/chocolate/vanilla oak with undertones of mocha. Plush and forward, dark and juicy, it’s quite polished and minty, with a plump, juicy palate culminating in a slightly greenish, angular and acidic finish of tomatoey and cherry bush flavour.
