A charming medium-bodied, savoury and fragrant red whose spicy bouquet of blackberries, redcurrants and dark plums reveals a hint of briar and a faint meatiness. Soft and pliant, with a lingering note of licorice, it’s easy to enjoy and strongly varietal, but lacks the length and core for an even higher rating.
